Blog Session 9 Sample Post

Every year I stop to think about everything that's happened because my good friend Kari, shared with me "the New Year's resolution" tradition and I liked it. So, to write your New Year's resolutions you need to reflect about what you’ve done, family, friends, your job, goals, love, etc.

So far, I can say I’ve had a good 2015 and the best thing that happened this year was welcoming our baby boy home! Also, we’re in a new flat and everything’s worked out well in terms of neighbours and the neighbourhood itself.  I know this is a cliché but it’s true for me: my most important achievement was having Santiago, our baby boy and everything around him and my partner has been great!

My summer plans are not clear yet and this is not the time I usually rest because I also work as a tour guide. If we travel in the summer, I’d love to visit the south, maybe cities near Chaitén or more little islands in wonderful Chiloé! I like the north, the central part and the south of Chile but I think in our summer is best to go south because it’s the time of year when rain it’s not that much like in winter. Wherever we decide to go, it’ll be our family: my partner, our baby boy and me but if we go to Chiloé, maybe we’ll spend some time with some members of my family.

Something that we really want to get started through our tourism business is the idea to offer some of the tours we have to immigrants. This way, we can help them learn about Santiago and the different neighbourhoods in this big city. We also want to teach immigrants Spanish but that’s more long term because we need time to find a place and time for the classes.

In our summer, the summer time in Chile, I usually work because that’s when more tourists come. Although I have to work, I’d like to study what I can’t during the year like languages and more specifically this year: sign language. We want to be more inclusive and offer tours for blind people and deaf or hard of hearing people, so we work with a sign language interpreter but it’ll be fun to learn sign language! The Chilean version though because there are different versions in every country, don’t understand why but that’s the way it is.
